Frequently asked questions
The details behind local processing, supported formats and what happens to your files.
Are my SVG files sent to your server?
No. Every tool runs client-side only. Files stay inside your browser and never leave your device. SVGMod has no file-upload endpoint.
Do I need to create an account?
No. All tools are free to use without an account, email address or sign-up flow.
Which browsers does SVGMod support?
SVGMod supports current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. The tools use standard browser APIs for file reading, encoding, rendering and downloads.
Can I use SVGMod on mobile?
Yes. The interface is responsive and works on modern iOS and Android browsers, although editing long SVG markup is usually more comfortable on a larger screen.
What SVG features does the color replacer support?
It detects direct fill, stroke and stop-color attributes. CSS style blocks, currentColor and colors referenced through paint servers are preserved rather than replaced.
Is SVG optimization lossless?
SVGO removes redundant code and simplifies data while aiming to preserve the rendered image. Complex SVGs should always be checked in the preview before deployment.
Why does Base64 increase image size?
Base64 represents binary data using a limited text alphabet and generally adds about 33% overhead. It is best for selective embedding, not as a universal image optimization method.
Can I use generated assets commercially?
Yes, provided you have the necessary rights to the original files. SVGMod does not claim ownership of your input or output. See the Terms of Service for details.
Do the tools work offline?
After a tool page and its scripts have fully loaded, file processing does not require a network connection. SVGMod does not yet install a dedicated offline application or guarantee cached availability.
How are tools and guides reviewed?
Tool workflows are checked with representative SVG and image inputs during development, including previews and generated downloads. Guides are reviewed against actual tool behavior and browser platform capabilities. Because source artwork and browsers vary, you should still compare output with your original before deployment.
Who writes the SVGMod guides?
Guides are produced by SVGMod editorial as part of the same independent frontend project that maintains the tools. Articles focus on practical implementation details, trade-offs and verification steps rather than generic definitions. The About page explains the review approach in more detail.
Why can optimized output look different?
SVG rendering can depend on referenced IDs, CSS, fonts, masks, filters, stroke settings and coordinate precision. A smaller file is not automatically a compatible replacement. Keep the source file, preserve required references, and inspect the output at its intended size and background.
Does SVGMod use advertising?
Yes. SVGMod uses Google AdSense to support development and hosting. Ads are separate from tool processing and do not receive your local file contents. Advertising and cookie details are explained in the Privacy Policy.
