How it works

From input to output,
in a few clicks.

Strip non-visual export data before publishing an icon or illustration. This focused SVGO cleanup removes authoring artifacts without applying broad geometry optimizations, and gives you a separate choice for title and description elements.

  2. Choose accessibility text handlingKeep title and desc elements by default, or enable their removal when they are not needed.

Frequently asked questions

Which metadata does this tool remove?

It removes XML processing instructions such as the XML declaration, doctypes, comments, metadata elements, and data associated with common SVG editor namespaces. It does not perform the full set of geometry and path optimizations used by a general minifier.

Are title and desc elements removed automatically?

No. They are preserved by default because they can provide accessible names and descriptions. Enable the removal option only when your embedding method supplies suitable alternative text or you intentionally want a smaller file.

Is metadata cleanup the same as a security sanitization?

No. Removing metadata does not guarantee that an SVG is safe. Scripts, event handlers, external resources, and other active content require separate inspection and sanitization.
